Water Sports

Canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing, fishing, sailing or powerboating – anyone who loves a day on the water will find plenty to do on Lake Jindabyne. Boat launching ramps are located at several places around the town make it easy to get out on the water.

White Water Rafting

The Snowy River trip takes place in one of the most remarkable regions of the Australian continent – scenic, dramatic and full of special wildlife and cultural places. Grades 1-3 pulsing white water rapids dispersed with contemplative calm pools to catch your breath and enjoy pristine surroundings.


Horse Riding

You’ll be amazed at just how beautiful the Snowies are by horseback. Expect to see plenty of wildlife as you trek through bushland and open green pastures where kangaroo’s, wombats and often Wild Brumbies reside.


Lake Fishing

Lake Jindabyne receives its inflows from the Snowy, Thredbo and Eucumbene rivers. The lake holds Brown, Rainbow and Brook Trout, as well as Atlantic Salmon. There are no boating restrictions on Lake Jindabyne and there is a concrete boat ramp near Snowline Caravan Park.

River Fishing

From the tiny streams such as Rendevous Creek to the often thunderous torrents of the mighty Thredbo River in spring melt, the Snowy Mountains has some of the finest trout waters on the planet.
